California Proposition 65

California Proposition 65 requires businesses whose products come into California to provide warnings about significant exposures to approximately 900 chemicals that have been found to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm.  August 30, 2018  is the deadline for labeling products.

Mitchell Scientific has developed Prop. 65 compliance capabilities in Emission Master and Emissions Accountant software to help identify the presence of Prop. 65 compounds in products and process mixtures.

By requiring this labeling information, Proposition 65 enables Californians to make informed decisions about their potential exposure to these chemicals. Exposure may be from items that Californians purchase, have in their homes or workplaces or that are released into the environment, including drinking water sources. Lawsuits to enforce the requirements may be brought by private citizens, among others, and substantial fines may also be levied.  August 30, 2018 is the labeling deadline.

We have recently completed upgrades to Emission Master and Emissions Accountant to identify process mixtures in your database that contain CA Prop. 65 listed chemicals.   The resulting report features mixture composition, weight percent, CAS number, and if the compound has been tagged with the CA Prop. 65 classification.
