When process
equipment (vessel, centrifuge, filter, storage tank, or other
equipment) is used during a process then the specific equipment -
process combination may be entered into the Equipment Modes
Database. For example, if reactor RE-100 is used in Process A then
an equipment-mode record may be created in the Equipment Modes
Database for (RE-100, Process A) combination. If RE-100 is later
used in Process B and in Process C then a total of three equipment
mode records may be entered into the Equipment Mode Database.
(RE-100, Process A), (RE-100, Process B), and (RE-100, Process C).
Emissions
Accountant also provides for the general case where equipment is
used for processing and no processes are specified in the equipment
mode record. When an equipment mode is entered into the database
and the mode record has not bee tagged to a specific process then
this mode will apply to all of the uncommitted processes. For
example, an equipment mode record has been created for RE-100
without a process specified. Now suppose that RE-100 is used during
the operation of Process A, Process B, and Process C. In this
case, the equipment mode for RE-100 would apply to all three
processes. In the case of an IL AER report, only one report would
be created for RE-100. However, if a second equipment mode record
is created (RE-100, Process C), then two AER reports would be
created for (1) RE-100 and Process A & Process B and (2) a second
AER report would be created for Process C.
Regulatory report
forms such as the IL AER require that additional information be
provided regarding each equipment mode that occurred during the
year. Equipment mode records provide data fields for this purpose.
A description of each field is provided
as follows:
-
Equipment: Tag name of
the process equipment of the mode record.
-
Process: Name of the
process record has it exist in Emissions Accountant.
-
Mode ID: A number that
is assigned to the specific equipment-process combination.
-
SCC: An assigned
regulatory identification.
-
Description: Text that
the user has entered to describe the equipment model record.
-
Operation Period Start:
The date that the equipment mode became in effect.
-
Operation Period End: The
data that the equipment mode ceased to exist.
